The Vampire Diaries Star Paul Wesley to Lead in Series About Russian War in Ukraine

Paul Wesley, best known for his role in The Vampire Diaries, is set to star in Unspoken, a new series centered on the war in Ukraine, Deadline reports.

Filming for Unspoken is scheduled to begin in the winter of 2025–2026. The story follows Pavlo, a former soldier, portrayed by Wesley, who returns from Poland to Ukraine at the onset of Russia’s invasion to save his family.

The series is developed by the Polish writer Filip Syczyński in collaboration with the Ukrainian director Zhanna Ozirna.

The series is a collaborative project involving Ukraine, the US, Germany, and Poland. The dialogue will primarily be in English, with additional scenes in Ukrainian and Polish.

“In a world stricken by war, I’m passionate about bringing the human side of this conflict to life through the lens of one man and his family. I hope viewers connect with Paul’s struggle and take away something meaningful about life, values and resilience from his journey and a renewed understanding of the human spirit under pressure,” Wesley said.
