Three Ukrainian Police Officers Killed in Russian Airstrike on Sumy Region

On the night of February 1, a Russian airstrike targeted the Yunakivka community in Sumy region, resulting in the deaths of three patrol police officers.
According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, two officers were killed while on duty in the community’s settlements. Later, the body of a third officer was discovered under the rubble.
The administration stated that the officers were carrying out their duties to protect the local population and maintain order in the border region, which has been subject to regular attacks.
Russian forces continue to target communities in Sumy region with strikes, causing casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure.
Earlier on February 1, a Russian missile strike hit a residential building in Poltava, causing structural collapse and fire damage. According to emergency services, at least five people were killed, and 14 others, including three children, were injured. Rescuers evacuated 22 individuals and localized fires in multiple areas. The attack also damaged neighboring buildings, vehicles, and energy infrastructure, leaving households without power.
