Trump and Zelenskyy May Meet in Rome During Pope Francis’ Funeral on April 26

US President Donald Trump may meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Rome later this week, as both leaders are expected to attend the funeral of Pope Francis on April 26. The potential encounter was noted in a report by The Washington Post on April 25.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said a meeting with Zelenskyy was “possible” during his upcoming visit to the Italian capital.

The funeral is expected to draw numerous world leaders, offering an opportunity for informal diplomatic interactions. According to The Washington Post, among the attending officials are expected to be UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, alongside Zelenskyy.

Previously, it was reported that Kyiv has proposed to Italy and several European partners to hold a summit on Ukraine, coinciding with the visit of foreign leaders to Rome for the funeral of Pope Francis on April 26.
