Trump: If It Weren’t for Me, Really Bad Things Would’ve Happened to Russia

US President Donald Trump has condemned Russian leader Vladimir Putin over continued attacks on Ukraine, warning that the Kremlin leader is “playing with fire.”
In a post on Truth Social on May 27, Trump claimed that if not for his actions during his presidency, “a lot of really bad things” would have already happened to Russia.
“Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!” Trump wrote.

Trump also criticized Russia’s latest missile strikes on Ukrainian cities, including the overnight attack on May 25, expressing strong disapproval, according to Reuters on May 26.
“I don't know what's wrong with him. What the hell happened to him? Right? He's killing a lot of people. I'm not happy about that,” he told reporters.
While noting that he had previously maintained a working relationship with Putin, Trump signaled a shift in tone: “He’s sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don't like it at all.”
US President also raised the prospect of new sanctions against Russia in response to its ongoing aggression.
Earlier, from May 24 to 26, Russian forces carried out sustained aerial assaults on Ukrainian cities for three consecutive nights, triggering air raid alerts lasting five to six hours each night. According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russia launched a record 995 aerial munitions during this period.
