The UK government has announced a new £150 million military aid package for Ukraine, British Defense Secretary John Healey stated at the opening of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Brussels on February 12.
The aid package will include tanks, artillery, air-to-air missiles, and other weaponry, along with contracts for maintaining previously supplied equipment for Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
“Today, I announced an additional £150 million for new firepower—tanks, artillery, air-to-air missiles, as well as new contracts to repair critical equipment in Ukraine,” Healey said.
He emphasized that Ukraine’s security is crucial for global stability and that this war has never been just about Ukraine’s fate alone. According to him, China, Iran, and North Korea are closely watching for any signs of weakness, anticipating that the international coalition’s resolve will fade and its unity will fracture.
“When aggression goes unanswered on one continent, it emboldens regimes elsewhere. When a country’s borders are redrawn by force, the security of all nations is at risk,” Healey warned.
Earlier, The UK has officially unveiled the Gravehawk, a new surface-to-air missile system specifically designed for Ukraine, according to Forces News on February 12. The system was developed within 18 months to address the increasing threats from drones, cruise missiles, and aircraft.
