Ukraine and Greece Sign Bilateral Security Agreement
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis signed a Cooperation Agreement in the field of security on October 17 in Brussels.
Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, Greece has provided military assistance to Ukraine, including logistical support and training. This agreement reaffirms Greece's commitment to continue addressing Ukraine's most urgent defense needs.
Together with its partners, Greece will provide additional resources to accelerate the training of Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel for F-16 aircraft.
The agreement also covers economic partnership, security cooperation, support for sanctions against Russia, and accountability for the aggressor state, as well as compensation for damages. Additionally, it fosters collaboration in culture, education, and the arts.
Greece is committed to participating in the reconstruction and recovery of Ukraine and supports the country's future membership in the EU and NATO, along with the Peace Formula.
This document was signed in accordance with the Joint G7 Declaration adopted in Vilnius on July 12, 2023. To date, Ukraine has signed a total of 27 bilateral agreements.
