Ukraine and Turkey Collaborate to Repair Energy System Damaged by Russian Attacks

Ukraine and Turkey met to discuss joint efforts in repairing Ukraine's energy system, heavily damaged by recent Russian attacks. The meeting involved Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko and Turkish Ambassador to Ukraine Mustafa Levent Bilgen, according to the Ukrainian Energy Ministry.

"The parties discussed the difficult situation in the Ukrainian energy system following renewed massive Russian attacks, as well as the areas of cooperation between the countries to overcome the consequences of the attacks," the ministry said.

Minister Galushchenko emphasized the urgent need to enhance the power system's flexibility and increase electricity generation capacity. This includes exploring options for distributed and mobile generation solutions. "This is crucial for our survival this coming winter," Galushchenko stressed.

Ambassador Bilgen highlighted the interest of several Turkish companies in participating in these critical infrastructure projects. Both sides agreed on the potential for joint projects, particularly in the Kharkiv and Odesa regions. “In this context, special emphasis was placed on cooperation in the installation of mobile power plants," the ministry said.

The Turkish Embassy expressed their appreciation for the productive meeting.
