The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has begun testing new samples of women’s uniforms, including demi-season and winter attire.

This was discussed during a meeting focused on inclusivity and accessibility, chaired by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice, Serhii Melnyk.

It is noted that field testing of the women’s demi-season uniform is currently underway, while the first samples of the winter uniform are prepared for research trials.

“The implementation of women’s uniforms is important, particularly because the sizing grid for men’s uniforms is not suitable for women,” Melnyk stated.

Serhii Melnyk also emphasized the need to provide women’s body armor that meets protection requirements while reducing the weight of the armor plates.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense is advancing NATO standards on gender equality through the educational program “Change Makers,” aimed at fostering gender equality principles within the Armed Forces of Ukraine and facilitating experience sharing with NATO partners.
