The Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully destroyed a large column of Russian armored vehicles near Andriivka in Donetsk region on April 3.

The hit, confirmed in footage released by The Armed Forces of Ukraine, took place along a single asphalt road, as it seemed absence of equipment needed to clear minefields. The detonation of the lead vehicle and the destruction of several others led to a blockade of the remaining vehicles.

The Russian Forces launched an assault on Ukrainian positions in the village of Andriivka, sending two infantry platoons supported by 12 infantry fighting vehicles and tanks. However, according to a Militarnyi, the tight formation and movement in a column made them vulnerable to heavy artillery and drone fire, resulting in significant losses.

Instead, the Russian infantry, dismounted alongside their equipment, suffered heavy losses from artillery fire and cluster munitions. Confirmed casualties amounted to 18 killed and 7 wounded. All 12 armored vehicles and tanks were struck, with 7 completely burned down.

Ukrainian artillery and cluster munitions inflicted heavy losses on the dismounted Russian infantry, resulting in 18 killed and 7 wounded. A total of 12 armored vehicles and tanks were destroyed, with 7 completely burned. The 46th Airmobile Brigade, which has previously repelled similar Russian assaults in the region, was involved in the defense.

The General Staff did not provide specific details on the units involved in repelling the attack, but it is known that the defense of Andriivka is managed by the 46th Airmobile Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. On March 22, the brigade successfully repelled a similar assault, where Russian forces attempted to break through the road using several armored vehicles while also deploying infantry units.

The Russian infantry utilized fortifications constructed by Ukrainian engineers, requiring paratroopers to clear them and sometimes destroy them.

Video footage shows that some of these concrete bunkers were being used by Russian drone operators as control points for UAVs. Based on the footage, it appears that the fortifications are too large for the paratroopers to hold and instead serve to help consolidate Russian infantry attempting to advance in small groups.

Earlier, Ukrainian fighters from the “Rarog” separate unmanned systems brigade destroyed a rare Russian reconnaissance chemical vehicle, the RKhM-4, on the eastern front.
