Ukraine Evacuates 68 More People from Lebanon, Including 40 Foreign Nationals
Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) and the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs carried out the fourth stage of the operation on evacuation Ukrainians from Lebanon, HUR reported on October 9.
Ukraine has successfully evacuated 68 individuals from Lebanon, including 28 Ukrainians and 40 foreign nationals.
A special flight from Beirut landed in Rzeszów, Poland, safely transporting 28 Ukrainians—19 adults and 9 children. They are now en route to Ukraine.
“I had been living in Lebanon for about 25 years. I had my children there and worked as a doctor in a dialysis center. We evacuated because the situation in Lebanon is very tense, the military actions are ongoing, and will likely escalate,” said Lesya, a Ukrainian evacuee.
As part of this mission, Ukraine also assisted in evacuating 40 foreign nationals from seven different countries—26 adults and 14 children. Among those brought to safety were citizens of Argentina, Mexico, Moldova, Romania, the Czech Republic, Colombia, and Lebanon.
“We had been trying to evacuate for a long time, but it was challenging with a dog. The Ukrainian embassy treated us very well, helping us with everything, even with the dog,” shared Anastasia, a Moldovan citizen.
Earlier, Ukraine HUR and Ukrainian MFA carried out another evacuation operaion from Lebanon, bringing to safety 179 people, including 134 Ukrainian citizens. Among the evacuees were 112 adults and 22 children from Ukraine.
