Ukraine Introduces 10 New Pistol and Submachine Gun Models for the Ukrainian Army
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced the deployment of approximately 10 new models of pistols and submachine guns within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This decision was made as part of measures implemented since the onset of the large-scale invasion by the Russian Federation.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' arsenal now includes pistols from renowned firearms companies based in the USA, Italy, and Belgium.
Most of the newly introduced pistols and submachine guns are chambered in 9 mm, although there are also models with a more powerful 11.43 mm caliber.
The submachine guns are noted for their light weight, compact size, and effectiveness. They typically come equipped with magazines holding 30 rounds, but one of the new models can be adapted to use magazines with capacities of 15, 20, and 25 rounds. This particular model also features a folding stock on both sides and an adapter for attaching a suppressor. All submachine guns are characterized by a very high rate of fire, which is crucial in close combat situations.
Since the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion, the Ukrainian defense agency has codified and put into operation nearly 20 models of sniper and anti-material rifles within the Armed Forces. One-third of them are of Ukrainian origin.
Since March 2022, a considerable number of rifles of Ukrainian manufacture have also been approved for deployment.
