Ukraine Strikes Major Russian Ammunition Depot in Bryansk Region
The Ukrainian Armed Forces, launched a precision strike on the Russian 1046th Material and Technical Support Center near Karachev in Russia’s Bryansk region, according to the Ukrainian General Staff on November 19.
“At 2:30 a.m., multiple secondary explosions and detonations were recorded in the target area,” the General Staff reported.
The operation targeted a military arsenal believed to house ammunition for Russian forces.
“There was artillery ammunition, including KND ammunition for their systems, KABs, anti-aircraft missiles, and MLRS ammunition. Earlier, it was attacked by drones,” wrote Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council’s Center for Countering Disinformation.
Ukrainian authorities emphasized that strikes on such facilities would continue as part of efforts to halt Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
Residents in Karachev and nearby Bryansk reported loud explosions and flashes of light emanating from the area, Russian media ASTRA reports.
Some shared videos capturing the sounds of detonations and glowing fire in the distance.
67th GRAU arsenal (military unit 55443), is a a significant ammunition storage site.
However, monitoring systems, such as NASA’s fire detection tools, did not confirm any fires in the area, a detail noted by Russian Telegram channel ASTRA. Despite this, reports of fresh explosions continued into the morning, as residents in Karachev and Bryansk reported more blasts around 9 a.m.
Earlier, Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a strike on a Russian ammunition depot in the Bryansk region, hitting the 1060th logistics center, formerly known as the 120th arsenal of Russia’s Main Rocket-Artillery Directorate.
