The duration of basic military training will be extended in October-November this year, announced the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on September 15.

“Quality training is one of the main factors in preserving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. We are putting maximum effort into this,” Syrskyi said.

“We are working on extending the duration of basic general military training. The relevant project will start in October-November this year,” he wrote on Telegram.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, efforts are also ongoing to improve the quality of training for servicemen in training centers.

"Instructor quality plays a key role in training. Therefore, we are paying maximum attention to involving motivated instructors with combat experience. We are also exploring the possibility of creating an Instructor School, which will be the primary and sole source of well-trained instructors," Syrskyi emphasized.

“We continue working on improving the quality of training for servicemen in training centers,” Commander-in-Chief concluded.

Ukrainian military training law dated May 22 provides for the implementation of basic general military training for citizens in higher education institutions of all ownership forms starting from September 1, 2025.
