The Netherlands will supply Ukraine with a new batch of F-16 fighter jets in 2025, according to Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on January 31.

Umerov highlighted that the F-16s were a key focus during his meeting with his Dutch counterpart, Ruben Brekelmans. Along with the new jets, the Netherlands will continue to support the training of Ukrainian pilots, engineers, and technicians.

The two Defense Ministers also discussed the development of Ukrainian drones. They coordinated the distribution of €400 million previously announced by the Netherlands and talked about preparations for joint projects focused on "long-range capabilities." Additionally, they addressed Ukraine's needs for artillery ammunition, air defense systems, and interceptor missiles.

"Another key topic is industrial cooperation. The next logical step is the development of joint defense enterprises that will strengthen the capabilities of our armies," Umerov remarked.

Previously, it was reported that representatives from Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces held talks with a delegation from the Netherlands Ministry of Defense to discuss Ukraine’s military needs and defense industry priorities.
