Ukraine’s Counterintelligence Destroys Major Russian Radar "Kasta" in Zaporizhzhia Region
Military counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, destroyed a Russian radar system "Kasta" in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Ukrainian servicemen tracked and struck the long-range detection radar 39N6 "Kasta-2E2", which cost around $60 million or more.
“In fact, this radar station was the "eyes" of the Russian air defense, which controlled our airspace. The enemy hid it in the rear, carefully camouflaged it, and often redeployed it,” wrote the Security Service of Ukraine.
SBU stated that the military counterintelligence officers from the 13th Main Directorate of the SBU hunt precisely for such rare targets.
“Since the beginning of the full-scale war, various units of the Security Service have hit a total of 166 means of Russian air defense and 446 means of radio-electronic warfare, as well as means of radio-electronic and radio-technical intelligence on the front line.
