Ukraine’s Fulltime Robotics Unveils “Slim Beam” Laser Turret to Neutralize Drones and More

The Ukrainian company Fulltime Robotics has developed the “Slim Beam” compact laser turret, designed for dual-use military and civilian tasks, it was reported by Militarnyi on May 16.
The Slim Beam turret enables operators to neutralize drones, blind optical sensors, and clear obstacles such as explosive hazards and overhead cables. In military applications, the system has three counter-drone modes: drone destruction, optical system blinding, and cover for mobile units and defensive positions.

“Invisible and silent, the Slim Beam laser swiftly and efficiently neutralizes drones, blinds optical systems, penetrates locks, and clears explosive debris obstacles; scaling will enable longer-range, higher-powered capabilities,” stated Ihor Andrusyk, CEO of Fulltime Robotics.
Earlier, the UK’s RapidDestroyer microwave weapon module was deployed in Ukraine to counter Russian UAV threats, demonstrating effective neutralization of small and medium drones at distances exceeding one kilometer during field trials.
The system integrates high-power microwave bursts to disable electronic components, effectively supports mobile and fixed installations, and enhances force protection against persistent unmanned aerial assaults in contested airspace.
