Ukraine's MFA Condemns Jared Leto's Russia Comments as Insulting

The comments made by American actor and singer Jared Leto about "Russian energy" during a recent concert in Serbia are an "insult to those sacrificing their lives to defend freedom," stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine on October 14.

“There can be no appeasement for Russia when it continues its attempts to solve ‘problem’ of Ukraine’s very existence,” the MFA wrote on its account on the social network X.

During a concert in Belgrade, Serbia, on October 11, Leto said that he "felt a lot of Russian energy around" and mentioned that he missed Russians. He also promised to perform in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, and later in Kyiv, "when all these problems are over," referring to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
