Ukraine has secured third place in the Open Data Maturity ranking, which assessed 34 countries across Europe, being in the top three for the third year in a row, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation report on December 17.

France took the top spot, followed by Poland in the second place.

Ukraine achieved an open data maturity score of 97%, significantly higher than the European average of 83%.

“Since 2020, we’ve climbed from 17th to 3rd place in the rankings. This achievement reflects the consistent efforts of our team,” the ministry stated.

Vice Prime Minister for Innovations, Education, Science, and Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized the importance of open data as a powerful anti-corruption tool.

“Open data is an important anti-corruption tool. It helps businesses create products, citizens control the government, and scientists overcome global challenges,” Fedorov said.

Earlier, Diia , a mobile app and web portal developed by Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, that allows users to store essential documents and access various government services online, was included into TIME’s Best Inventions 2024 list in the ‘Apps and Software’ category.
