Ukraine's Paralympic Uniforms Approved After Two-Month Standoff With International Committee
For more than two months, the International Paralympic Committee refused to approve the uniforms of the Ukrainian Paralympian National Team.
The President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ukraine Valerii Sushkevych reported this.
“The map of sovereign, independent Ukraine was categorically prohibited on the uniform, but we pushed through our demands that Ukraine within the internationally recognized borders stays on our uniform,” Sushkevych said. “They argued that our uniforms were too military in design and were banning the additional military green that appeared on our uniforms.”
However, Sushkevych noted that Ukraine was able to prove the legal correctness of its uniforms.
The 2024 Paralympic Games will be held in Paris from August 28 to September 8. Ukraine will be represented at the Paralympics by a team of 140 athletes who will be represented in 17 sports.
