Ukraine’s Well-Equipped Army Is Key to Country’s Security, Says Polish FM

The best guarantee of Ukraine’s security is its well-equipped army, said the Polish Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski, in a March 29 interview with “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24.
“The greatest and best guarantee of Ukraine’s security is a brave and well-equipped Ukrainian army,” Sikorski said, emphasizing that “this is the largest army in Europe on our side, […], and it has experience in waging this new type of war involving millions of drones.”
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also addressed the ongoing situation in Ukraine and the international efforts to bring an end to Russia’s war.
“A lot depends on us, how we will rise to the challenge of arming ourselves in Europe, how we will strengthen the European Union and how we will preserve the North Atlantic Alliance, and above all, how we will help Ukraine repel aggression,” Sikorski added.
On March 30, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Russia continues to push the same demands it has for years: to weaken Ukraine’s military, diminish its defensive capabilities, restrict Western military aid, and prevent its accession to NATO.
In March, several rounds of talks between the US, Ukraine, and Russia took place in Saudi Arabia, with the main focus on a potential ceasefire.
The negotiations followed a “shuttle diplomacy” format, with the American delegation holding separate discussions with the Ukrainian and Russian sides.
