Ukrainian athlete and current Ukrainian parliament member Zhan Beleniuk, 33 years old, won the bronze medal in men's Greco-Roman 87kg at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

Beleniuk met in a duel with the Polish Greco-Roman wrestler Arkadiusz Kułynycz, 31 years old, on Thursday, August 8.

In the bronze medal match, the Ukrainian athlete defeated his opponent from Poland with a score of 3:1.

At the end of the fight, Beleniuk put his shoes in the center of the mat. With such a symbolic gesture, wrestlers announce the completion of their careers.

For Zhan Beleniuk, this is already the third Olympic medal. He won silver in 2016 and gold in 2020.

As of August 8, Ukraine has earned 10 medals, placing it at the 15th place in the Olympics medal table.
