The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has formally issued new charges against Russian propagandist Olga Skabeeva in absentia, the agency reported on April 8.

SBU has gathered new evidence of criminal activity by Skabeeva, who justifies Russia’s war against Ukraine and calls for the capture of the country.

According to the case materials, Skabeeva is part of the Kremlin’s media pool, used for the widespread dissemination of informational and psychological manipulation in Moscow’s interests.

For example, it has been documented that Skabeeva has repeatedly called for the capture of Kyiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and other major Ukrainian cities.

The security agency added that Skabeeva also suggested to the Russian command that they destroy Ukraine’s energy infrastructure to cut off power to entire regions of the country.

“To achieve this, the suspect advocated for the use of combined missile and drone strikes by Russian forces on key energy-generating facilities, especially during the cold season,” SBU wrote.

These and other statements by Skabeeva are regularly promoted on the show “60 Minutes” on one of the Kremlin’s main propaganda outlets, the “Russia-1” TV channel.

Judicial and linguistic expert assessments initiated by the Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the facts of Skabeeva’s involvement in information-based subversive activities.

At the end of March, the Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Center for Countering Disinformation have released a list of 11 Russian propagandists who play significant roles in advancing the Kremlin’s narrative and justifying its ongoing war against Ukraine.
