During Russia’s combined air assault on Ukraine on November 17, Ukrainian Air Force F-16 fighter jets were deployed to intercept incoming missiles, as shown in footage recorded in the west of Ukraine and shared by eyewitnesses on the same day.

Ukrainian fighter jets managed to intercept over 10 Russian missiles mid-air during the coordinated attacks, including at least one high-speed chase involving an F-16 and a Russian cruise missile over Western Ukraine.

On November 17, a combination of missile and drone strikes hit critical infrastructure and civilian areas.

Previously, Denmark announced plans to send two more batches of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, reaffirming its commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defense needs.

In addition, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans during a NATO Defense Ministers' meeting in Brussels said that Ukraine may use the F-16 fighter jets provided by the Netherlands within Russian airspace.
