Daria Bilodid, the Ukrainian judoka, secured her first victory at the 2024 Olympics in Paris with a decisive ippon against Tyribata Nera Tibva in just 5 seconds. This propels her into the round of 16, where she will compete the same day, July 29.

23-year-old Bilodid is a bronze medalist of the 2020 Olympic Games, a three-time European champion, and a two-time world champion.

Notably, she became the youngest-ever world champion in judo at the age of 17, securing a gold medal at the World Championship in 2018.

Subsequently, she was recognized as the world’s best judoka in both 2019 and 2020. Her bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 marked a historic achievement for Ukraine.

The 2024 Summer Olympics, Paris 2024, is taking place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, in France.
