Ukrainian Special Forces Cripple Russian Communications with Cutting-Edge Weaponry

For the first time since full-scale war, the Ukrainian military have successfully targeted a Russian digital radio relay station, the R-416GM.

The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) reported this.

Operators of the 3rd Special Operations Forces Regiment engaged the enemy communication station while working in one of the operational areas. During the strike, Ukrainian army used one of the latest weapon developments.

“Our operators struck the enemy target with one of the latest developments that entered service with the Special Operations Forces. As a result of the accurate fire, the R-416GM station was damaged. Consequently, communication between the command post and the units of the Russian army was disrupted,” the Special Operations Forces report.

The SSO note that the Russian forces adopted the R-416GM complex in 2018. The mobile station is designed to improve the efficiency of radio relay units in the field.
