An American volunteer fighting with Ukraine’s 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade helped capture four Russian soldiers during a clearing operation in the Serebriansky Forest, according to a video released by the brigade on November 20.
“A unique video filmed by an American fighter from the 63rd Brigade’s assault group,” the unit said in the caption.
“Bruce and his teammates were clearing the Serebriansky Forest when they took four ‘Moskals’ prisoner. Check out the American warrior’s level of Ukrainian—and especially his politeness. Even the Russians were surprised.”
The footage shows the group advancing through dense woodland before confronting and detaining the Russian troops. Ukrainian defenders highlighted the American soldier’s calm demeanor and fluent Ukrainian as he issued instructions during the capture.

The Serebriansky Forest, located along a heavily contested sector of the eastern front, has seen continuous close-quarters fighting.
Earlier, on the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian forces captured a Russian soldier belonging to the Ket ethnic group—one of the smallest Indigenous peoples in the Russian Federation.
