Vice President Kamala Harris to Attend Summit on Peace for Ukraine in Switzerland

Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Lucerne, Switzerland on June 15 to participate in the Summit on Peace for Ukraine.

During the summit, she plans to emphasize the commitment of the Biden-Harris Administration to supporting Ukraine’s efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace. Furthermore, she will reaffirm the US support for the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against ongoing Russian aggression.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will accompany the Vice President to represent the United States at the summit.

Previously, the US faced criticism from Ukraine after the announcement that US President Joe Biden would miss the Summit in Switzerland because of a campaign fundraiser in California in mid-June.

On May 28, during his visit to Brussels, Zelenskyy stated that Putin would celebrate Biden’s absence at the Summit.

Earlier, on June 4, the Office of the President of Ukraine announced that 107 countries and organizations have confirmed their participation in the upcoming Summit on Peace for Ukraine in Switzerland.
