Witkoff: US to Lift Sanctions on Russia After Ukraine Ceasefire Agreement

Trump’s Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, stated that US sanctions on Russia would be eased once a ceasefire agreement is reached in Ukraine.

On March 19, Witkoff said, “Easing of anti-Russian sanctions will follow agreement on ceasefire in Ukraine.”

Witkoff further emphasized Russia is a “critical relationship” for the United States and expressed confidence that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is “operating in good faith” regarding efforts for peace in Ukraine.

In related news, the conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump concluded, with Trump describing it as a “very good call.”
