Zelenskyy Arrives in Brussels for Key Meetings with European Leaders
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Brussels on December 18 for a series of high-level discussions with European leaders. The visit is aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s relationships with its European partners and addressing critical issues related to Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
Zelenskyy announced meetings with leaders of seven European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, and the Czech Republic. He is also scheduled to meet with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Council President António Costa, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
The Ukrainian president emphasized the importance of a coordinated European stance for achieving a just peace between Ukraine and Russia, stressing that ending the war is a fundamental issue for Europe. He highlighted that the process of securing peace requires effective cooperation among European nations.
Zelenskyy’s visit follows recent reports confirming the focus of his discussions, including long-range capabilities for Ukraine and investments in the country’s defense industry. The president’s meetings with European leaders are expected to shape future military and diplomatic efforts aimed at ending Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
