Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that his meeting with Keith Kellogg, the U.S. president’s special envoy to Russia and Ukraine, had “restored hope” for stronger agreements between Ukraine and the United States, he stated in his evening address on February 20.

“General Kellogg—this meeting restores hope. We need strong agreements with America—agreements that will truly work,” Zelenskyy said.

“I have instructed my team to work quickly and very, very carefully. Economy and security must always go hand in hand, and the details of these agreements matter: the better they are outlined, the greater the results.”

Zelenskyy noted that he and Kellogg discussed the front lines, the release of Ukrainian prisoners held by Russia, and the need for a clear and reliable security guarantee system to prevent future wars.

“We talked about the need to ensure that this war never returns, that Russians cannot destroy lives again. Peace is essential for all of us—for Ukraine, Europe, America, and the entire world,” he said.

Zelenskyy described his meeting with Keith Kellogg as a “good conversation” that covered the battlefield situation, security guarantees for Ukraine, and a potential agreement on rare earth minerals.

Earlier, Zelenskyy, following a meeting with U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, reaffirmed Ukraine’s readiness for a comprehensive agreement with the U.S. on security and investment.

He also expressed gratitude for continued U.S. support and bipartisan backing, emphasizing the importance of American leadership in global security.
