Zelenskyy Meets with Italian Prime Minister at Ambrosetti Forum

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on September 7 during the Ambrosetti forum in Italy. During the meeting, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Italy’s support and briefed Meloni on the current battlefield situation, recent attacks on civilian and critical infrastructure by Russia, and Ukraine’s ongoing defense needs.

The leaders discussed the implementation of the G7 decision to provide nearly $50 billion to Ukraine from frozen Russian assets. Zelenskyy also highlighted the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference, scheduled to take place in Italy in 2025, noting that preparations for the event have already begun.

The meeting focused on the implementation of Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula, with Italy’s active involvement emphasized. Additionally, Zelenskyy outlined Ukraine’s next steps toward European integration and acknowledged Italy’s support.

Zelenskyy arrived in Italy on September 6, following his participation in the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Germany. His visit to Italy also included participation in the Ambrosetti forum and meetings with representatives from over 30 leading Italian companies across various sectors.
