Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law, according to which the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) are defined as a separate branch of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are a unique type of armed forces that currently do not exist in any other army in the world.

The purpose of the USF is to increase the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the use of unmanned and robotic air, sea and ground systems.

On February 6, Zelenskyy signed the decree "On increasing the capabilities of the defense forces", which proposed to create a separate type of troops called "Unmanned Systems Forces" to control unmanned aerial vehicles.

United24 Media previously interviewed Vadym Sukharevskyi, Colonel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Deputy Commander-in-Chief, who is responsible for the development and deployment of Ukraine’s unmanned systems.

The Unmanned Systems Forces will be responsible for supplying units with drones, supporting their operations, recruiting and training specialists, and planning military operations that involve unmanned systems.
