Zelenskyy: Without US Support, Ukraine’s Victory Chances Diminish

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a warning, asserting that without vital support from the US Congress, Ukraine’s prospects for victory are non-existent. In an exclusive interview with PBS, Zelenskyy emphasized the critical need for a $60 billion support package to bolster Ukraine’s defenses against Russian aggression.

Zelenskyy underscored the alarming numerical advantage Russian forces hold over Ukrainian counterparts in terms of artillery firepower. He stressed that without urgent assistance, daily setbacks on the battlefield are inevitable.

“Today, the ratio of artillery shells is 1 to 10. Can we stand like this? No. In any case, with this statistic, they will push us back daily. If we want to fully defend what is under our control today, we must go from 1 to 10 to 10,” the Ukrainian President said.

Expressing hope for swift action from US lawmakers, Zelenskyy emphasized the urgent need for support in the face of Russia’s unlimited resources. He accentuated that the destruction of vital infrastructure, such as the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant, is possible because Ukraine has ran out of missiles to defend it.

“I hope that they [in the US Congress] are listening to us and will make a decision in the coming days, weeks, but not longer,” said Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy’s warning comes amidst growing concerns over NATO’s reluctance to intervene, despite recent actions against Iranian attacks on Israel. The Ukrainian President questioned the double standard, highlighting the need for unified action against Russian aggression.
