Taras Chmut

Director of the Come Back Alive Foundation since 2021 and Ukraine's most prominent military philanthropist. A marine veteran and co-founder of the Militarnyi news portal, Chmut transformed the foundation into Ukraine's largest defense charity — raising over UAH 19 billion in a single grant in 2025, signing a UAH 1.92 billion contract for Ukraine's Defense Forces in June 2026, and becoming the first Ukrainian foundation to receive official permission to purchase lethal weapons. Serves on the Supervisory Board of Ukraine's Defence Procurement Agency. Regular military commentator for Ukrainian and international media.
