A retired general with direct NATO command experience, Pavel has been one of Europe's most credible military voices on the Ukraine war. Initiated the Czech "ammunition initiative" in 2024 — coordinating 18+ countries to procure 800,000+ artillery shells for Ukraine from non-EU countries — making it one of the most impactful European defense cooperation efforts of the war.
