Russia will now punish people not just for posting “extremist” content—but even for searching or clicking on it.This includes anything about the war, Ukrainian identity, LGBT rights, or even some religious texts.

 

For Ukrainians in occupied territory, it’s far worse. People can be punished simply for:

- Reading Ukrainian news

- Listening to Ukrainian music

- Using VPNs to contact family

 

It also targets Ukrainian children.

With Ukrainian books banned in occupied schools, kids using remote learning apps can be labeled “extremists” by Russian authorities.

 

Experts call it the biggest internet crackdown in Russia’s history.

But in occupied Ukraine, it’s a weapon to silence, isolate, and destroy resistance.
