Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,330 Troops, 2 Tanks, and 57 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost another 1,330 troops, two tanks, four armored combat vehicles, and 57 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on July 22.

Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have now reached approximately 1,433,230 troops killed or wounded.

Ukraine also reported the destruction of three multiple launch rocket systems, 11 UGVs, 1,610 operational-tactical UAVs, 355 vehicles and fuel tankers, and nine pieces of special equipment.

Russia’s cumulative equipment losses now stand at 12,163 tanks, 24,982 armored combat vehicles, 46,492 artillery systems, 1,958 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,513 air defense systems, 438 aircraft, 354 helicopters, 1,981 UGVs, 421,900 operational-tactical UAVs, 4,933 cruise missiles, 34 ships and boats, two submarines, 123,702 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,450 pieces of special equipment.

Ukraine’s General Staff recorded 219 combat engagements across the front over the past day.

Russian forces carried out two missile strikes using three missiles and launched 92 airstrikes, dropping 285 guided aerial bombs. They also deployed 9,963 suicide drones and conducted 3,309 attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 44 strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukraine’s missile forces and artillery struck three Russian UAV command posts, three areas where personnel were concentrated, two command posts, and three other high-value targets.

Previously, Russia’s National Guard, Rosgvardia, has proposed updating its civil defense protocols to include preparations for threats during mobilization, martial law, and wartime for the first time, amending a 2018 order to align with a 2025 law.

The draft regulation comes as Western intelligence and defense assessments estimate Russian casualties in the full-scale invasion of Ukraine have reached around 1.4 million killed and wounded by mid-year, amid reports of possible autumn mobilization efforts that rumors suggest could involve up to 1.2 million people.
