Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,540 Troops, 24 Artillery Systems, and 792 UAVs in One Day

Ukraine’s General Staff reported on September 24 that Russian forces lost an estimated 1,540 personnel over the past day, bringing total estimated Russian personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion to approximately 1,523,980.

Ukrainian forces also destroyed 24 Russian artillery systems and 792 operational-tactical UAVs during the previous 24 hours, according to the latest figures.

Additional Russian equipment losses over the past day included 15 armored combat vehicles, two multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS), four air defense systems, 229 vehicles and fuel tankers, four unmanned ground vehicles, and three pieces of special equipment. The General Staff also recorded the loss of one Russian aircraft.

With the latest figures included, Russia’s cumulative equipment losses since February 24, 2022, are estimated at 12,367 tanks, 25,402 armored combat vehicles, 50,240 artillery systems, 2,154 MLRS, 1,669 air defense systems, and 531,352 operational-tactical UAVs.

The General Staff’s overall tally further lists 443 aircraft, 356 helicopters, 5,111 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, and two submarines. Russia is also estimated to have lost 152,782 vehicles and fuel tankers, 2,727 unmanned ground vehicles, and 4,740 pieces of special equipment.

The latest figures were reported amid continued heavy fighting across the front line, where 277 combat engagements were recorded over the previous 24 hours.

The figures also come as Ukraine continues efforts to counter Russia’s extensive use of unmanned systems. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense recently reported that Ukrainian forces have destroyed or disabled more than 350,000 Russian drones since the beginning of the year.
