Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,560 Troops and 71 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost an estimated 1,560 troops, one tank, and 71 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on July 28.

Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since launching its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have now reached approximately 1,442,140 troops.

Ukraine also reported the destruction of six armored combat vehicles, one multiple launch rocket system, 16 UGVs, 1,755 operational-tactical UAVs, 548 vehicles and fuel tankers, and four pieces of special equipment.

Russia’s cumulative equipment losses now stand at 12,226 tanks, 25,038 armored combat vehicles, 46,902 artillery systems, 1,970 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,519 air defense systems, 439 aircraft, 354 helicopters, 2,054 UGVs, 431,310 operational-tactical UAVs, 4,950 cruise missiles, 34 ships and boats, two submarines, 126,850 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,476 pieces of special equipment.

Ukraine’s General Staff recorded 227 combat engagements between Ukrainian and Russian forces over the past day.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is preparing to launch a new wave of military mobilization following Russia’s parliamentary elections in September. He stated that Putin is aiming to draft up to 500,000 troops to sustain his invasion.
