Sweden will allocate €5.4 million ($6.4 million) to the Ukraine Transport Infrastructure Support Fund (UTSF) to help repair transit networks damaged by Russia’s full-scale invasion.

The Ministry for Restoration, Infrastructure, and Transport of Ukraine announced the contribution on October 19.

According to the ministry, these funds will strengthen Ukraine's ability to rebuild damaged transport infrastructure while helping prepare and implement high-priority projects.

The new allocation will allow officials to test the fund's operational framework and launch its initial projects.

The UTSF was established in March 2026 through a joint initiative by Ukraine, Lithuania, Sweden, and Canada to attract international financing for the most critical needs in Ukraine's transport sector.

“Sweden’s support is an important contribution to the resilience and recovery of Ukraine’s transport system. Russian attacks daily create new challenges for our infrastructure, yet we continue to ensure transport connections, logistics, and economic movement,” stated Ukraine’s Minister for Restoration, Infrastructure, and Transport, Mykola Kalashnyk.

This contribution follows recent support from Sweden totaling 500 million kr ($50.4 million), as part of a broader assistance package.
