According to Ukraine’s State Property Fund on October 28, the property was sold through an online auction for 8.01 million hryvnias (approximately $190,000), exceeding its starting price of 7.07 million hryvnias (approximately $168,000).

The 193.2-square-meter (2,080-square-foot) apartment is located on Saksahanskoho Street in Kyiv’s historic center. It occupies two levels of the top floor of a six-story building and includes three rooms, office spaces, a kitchen, two bathrooms, three balconies, and utility areas.

Two bidders participated in the auction, raising the final price by 936,150 hryvnias (approximately $22,000). The property was transferred to Ukrainian state ownership following a ruling by the High Anti-Corruption Court as part of sanctions imposed against Lebedev.

Under the auction terms, the winning bidder must complete payment within 25 working days after the auction protocol is issued and settle outstanding utility bills before the purchase agreement can be finalized.

The State Property Fund confirmed that proceeds from the sale of sanctioned Russian assets are directed to Ukraine’s Fund for the Liquidation of the Consequences of Armed Aggression, which finances reconstruction efforts.

Lebedev, a Russian designer and blogger known for his pro-Kremlin positions, has faced legal action in Ukraine over his activities during Russia’s full-scale invasion.

In June 2022, he illegally entered the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, where he filmed a report for Kremlin-aligned media about Russia’s seizure of the facility. Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) subsequently notified him of suspicion of justifying Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
