On May 23rd, Russia destroyed a Ukrainian book printing facility in Kharkiv with missiles—killing 7 people and injuring 20+ more. Images of Ukrainian books burning horrified many across the world. Although there is truly no target off limits for Russia, what is the logic behind an attack on a warehouse with Ukrainian books?

Russia has been relentlessly bombing Ukraine’s second-biggest city, killing civilians and destroying infrastructure. In the past 7 days, they launched 5 massive attacks against Kharkiv—in a clear attempt to destroy the city and break the spirit of its people.

Russia has been shelling Kharkiv almost daily for the third month in a row. But the city is not going to surrender.

Russia has long exploited the Olympic Truce as a ruse to launch its wars. Putin knows that the best time to attack is while everyone watches the games as it’ll be difficult for news to broadcast during the sports event and could go unnoticed by world media.

In the wake of the EU General Court's decision on April 10th to remove Russian billionaires Mikhail Fridman and Petr Aven from the sanctions list, Russian oligarchs have taken matters further and have started challenging other EU sanctions that continue to restrict their access to their European assets.

The “Khartiia” Brigade has been defending the village of Lyptsi in the Kharkiv Region of Ukraine for over ten days now. Even though Russia is saying that it has been captured, the village is entirely under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
