Why Are Swedish Weapons So Good?

Pål Jonson has been Swedish Minister of Defence since 2022. Over the years, the relatively small country of Sweden has joined NATO, and acted as one of the most consistent backers of Ukraine, both in terms of humanitarian aid and military support. With around 12 Billion euros, this makes Sweden the fifth-largest military donor in Europe relative to its GDP. In this interview, we speak with the Minister about where this conviction comes from, about the new deal for the delivery of Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine and what to expect from the future.
