Argentina became a part of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the Ramstein format, on June 13 at NATO headquarters in Brussels, during the 23rd meeting of the group.

The US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at the beginning of the meeting welcomed Argentina to the Defense Contact Group.

“We’ve got a lot of work ahead. And fortunately, support for Ukraine is growing and not waning. In fact, I am pleased to welcome Argentina as a new member. [Argentina’s Defense] Minister [Luis] Petri, I am glad to have you with us,” Austin said.

The Ukraine Defense Contact Group is an alliance of countries supporting the defense of Ukraine by sending military equipment in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
