US President Joe Biden Signs $61 Billion Military Aid Package for Ukraine
After months of anticipation, the United States has delivered on its promise of critical military support for Ukraine.
US President Joe Biden has officially signed the $61 billion military aid package for Ukraine.
After months of anticipation, the United States has delivered on its promise of critical military support for Ukraine. On April 24th, the US Senate overwhelmingly approved a nearly $61 billion aid package, and President Biden has now officially signed it into law. This aid will bolster Ukraine’s defense against Russia and ensure the country has the resources to protect its people.
The US President stated that the path of the bill to his desk was difficult, but “in the end, we did what America always does, we rose to the moment, we came together, and we got it done, ” adding that:
“It’s going to make America safer, it’s going to make the world safer and it continues America’s leadership in the world and everyone knows it. It gives vital support to America’s partners so that they can defend themselves against threats to their sovereignty, and the lives and freedom of their citizens. And it’s an investment in our own security because when our allies are stronger, we are stronger,” commented the US President.
Here is a breakdown of how the funds are likely to be allocated.
