Buffalo MPV Armored Vehicle Approved for Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has officially approved the Buffalo MPV armored engineering vehicle for supply to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This vehicle is considered one of the safest in the world.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Buffalo MPV is a US Army engineering vehicle built using MRAP technology (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected). It is renowned for its high level of protection.
The vehicle features 15-centimeter-thick bulletproof windows and a composite armor capsule further reinforced with cumulative grilles. It is equipped with a 9-meter manipulator with an integrated camera and sensors for the disposal of explosive devices.
The Ministry notes that the Buffalo MPV is a significant upgrade from the CASSPIR armored vehicle, which was used in conflicts in South Africa during the 1980s, as well as in Iraq and Afghanistan. The CASSPIR remains in service with armies and security forces in over 10 countries worldwide.
"Significantly, during its operational history, none of these vehicles, despite enduring explosions and gunfire, have resulted in any fatalities," the report states.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has authorized approximately 20 types of mine-resistant and ambush-protected armored vehicles for use.
