Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,180 Troops and 16 Armored Vehicles in One Day

Russian forces sustained significant losses over the past 24 hours, with 1,180 troops killed or wounded along with 16 armored combat vehicles, according to Ukraine’s General Staff on April 28.
The latest figures bring Russia’s total estimated losses since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022 to approximately 1,327,640 personnel.

Equipment losses also continued to climb, including 34 artillery systems, two multiple launch rocket systems, and more than 1,000 operational-tactical drones.
According to the General Staff, a total of 226 combat engagements were recorded across the front line during the reporting period.
The heaviest fighting took place in the Pokrovsk direction, where 52 clashes were reported, followed by the Huliaipole sector with 26 engagements.

Russian forces also continued large-scale aerial and artillery attacks. Over the past day, they carried out 76 airstrikes, dropping 247 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, Russian units launched 6,251 attack drones and conducted 2,283 shelling strikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 34 using multiple launch rocket systems.
Earlier, Finland’s President Alexander Stubb said Russia suffered significantly higher battlefield losses than Ukraine in recent months, with casualty figures reportedly running at roughly four times those of Ukrainian forces.
