Daily Update: Russia Loses 930 Troops, 5 Tanks and 55 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost 930 personnel, five tanks, and dozens of artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on March 8.
According to the latest battlefield update, Russia’s total estimated combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached:
personnel: approximately 1,273,290 (+930);
tanks: 11,742 (+5);
armored combat vehicles: 24,157 (+6);
artillery systems: 38,059 (+55);
multiple launch rocket systems: 1,673 (+3);
air defense systems: 1,322 (no change);
aircraft: 435 (no change);
helicopters: 349 (no change);
operational-tactical UAVs: 164,416 (+2,558);
cruise missiles: 4,403 (+19);
warships/boats: 30 (no change);
submarines: 2 (no change);
vehicles and fuel tankers: 82,101 (+289);
special equipment: 4,083 (+3).
The General Staff also reported 121 combat engagements across the front line during the past day.
Russian forces carried out three missile strikes using 33 missiles and launched 86 airstrikes, dropping 254 guided aerial bombs, according to the report.

In addition, Russian troops deployed 9,837 attack drones and conducted 3,514 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 49 strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.
The most intense fighting was recorded in several sectors across eastern and southern Ukraine, where Russian forces continued attempts to break through Ukrainian defensive lines.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck eleven areas where Russian personnel and equipment were concentrated, as well as two UAV command points and one electronic warfare system, according to the General Staff.
Earlier, units of Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR), including the “Timur Special Unit,” halted a Russian offensive in the Zaporizhzhia sector after a three-month operation that stabilized the front line. According to HUR, Ukrainian forces used drone and artillery strikes to disrupt Russian logistics, inflicting significant losses and capturing 39 Russian servicemen while preventing Russian troops from advancing toward the city of Zaporizhzhia.
