Daily Update: Russia Loses 970 Troops, Five Armored Vehicles and 24 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost 970 personnel over the past 24 hours, along with multiple pieces of military equipment, according to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces on March 23.

In addition to personnel losses, Ukrainian officials reported the destruction of five armored combat vehicles, one tank, 24 artillery systems, and one multiple launch rocket system.

Drone losses remained particularly high, with nearly 2,000 operational-tactical UAVs reportedly destroyed in a single day.

According to the General Staff, Russia’s total estimated combat losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately:

  • 1,288,850 personnel;

  • 11,794 tanks;

  • 24,268 armored combat vehicles;

  • 38,662 artillery systems;

  • 1,695 multiple launch rocket systems;

  • 1,336 air defense systems;

  • 192,869 UAVs;

  • 84,775 vehicles and fuel trucks.

Aircraft, helicopters, naval assets, and cruise missile figures remained unchanged over the reporting period.

Ukrainian forces also reported 134 combat engagements across the front line over the past day, indicating continued high-intensity fighting.

Earlier, a Russian official admitted that Russia is too massive to defend against Ukrainian drone strikes fully.
