Ukraine’s Support Forces Eliminate Nearly 700 Russian Soldiers Using Engineering Munitions In February

Ukrainian engineering troops and support forces reported significant results from their operations throughout February.

These units, which include support from the Ground Forces, Unmanned Systems Forces, and Air Assault Forces, successfully carried out combat missions across various areas, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with reference to the Support Forces on March 16.

Data shows that 678 Russian soldiers were eliminated on engineering barriers set by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in February. In addition to the personnel losses, the operations destroyed 120 units of weapons and military equipment and 19 additional military targets.

Most of these strikes were carried out through remote mining using unmanned aerial vehicles. This method allows for high efficiency while reducing the physical risks to Ukrainian personnel.

The Ukrainian military states that modern warfare has become a war of technologies. Remote mining units now use drones and ground-based robotic systems to block Russian advancement routes and strike their assets effectively.

In the past, combat engineers had to work manually in dangerous areas, but these risks are now much lower. Unmanned systems allow tasks to be completed faster and with more precision.

“The recording of the destruction of enemy equipment and personnel is carried out in real time, and all confirmed targets are entered into the DELTA situational awareness system , which ensures the objectivity and reliability of the data,” the statement from the General Staff of the AFU said.

The Engineering Troops of the Support Forces continue to expand their defensive capabilities by creating new barriers and working with other units to inflict losses on Russian forces.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense launched a new radar tool in the DELTA Mobile app that alerted service members to incoming air threats and visualized their movement.

The feature provided individual military personnel with direct warnings and notifications when a threat approached a selected area.

Users were able to adjust the alert radius and choose between voice or sound notifications, allowing for a more complete picture of aerial threats without switching between different services.

DELTA is a Ukrainian-developed, cloud-based military situational awareness and combat management system designed for real-time battlefield visibility. It integrates data from drones, intelligence, and sensors onto a digital map, allowing commanders to track enemy forces and coordinate units across land, air, and sea.
